Brittany and Drew Brees and the Brees Dream Foundation have collectively committed and/or contributed more than $11,000,000 to charitable causes and academic institutions in the New Orleans, San Diego and West Lafayette/Purdue communities.

The 2012 Drew Brees Celebrity Championship returns May 18-20 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) to a new location at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad.

Long recognized as one of the region’s premiere sports hospitality events, the Drew Brees Celebrity Championship will add to the appeal with a move to the newly renovated La Costa Resort and Spa. The Drew Brees Celebrity Championship is comprised of a celebrity-amateur tournament (Friday and Saturday, May 18-19) and a 36-hole celebrity competition (Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20), featuring more than 50 top celebrity golfers competing for a $100,000 total purse and the coveted Drew Brees Celebrity Championship trophy.

NFL quarterback Tony Romo won the 2011 Drew Brees Celebrity Championship with an impressive 5-under par. Past winners include standouts from entertainment and each of the four major American sports: Tony Romo (2011), Jack Wagner (2010), Jack Marin (2009), Mickey Tettleton (2008), Rick Rhoden (2000, 2002, 2003, 2007), Grant Fuhr (2006), Andy Van Slyke (2005), Brian Kinchen (2004), Trent Dilfer (2001), and Dan Quinn (1999).

Last year, the Drew Brees Celebrity Championship raised more than $181,000 for the Brees Dream Foundation, which in turn donated the proceeds to Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Armed Services YMCA, Friends of Scott Foundation, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Pacific South Coast Chapter.
